his career as an art school teacher, culminating in
him being afforded a certificate of “Participation
in The Olympics” in Art. Absolute Model Agency
started off small and today is one of the largest, most
reputable agencies of its kind that has led to the careers
of many of South Africa’s top male and female
models. Absolute Productions has produced shows for
Ambassadors, Presidents and Heads of State. Danny’s
vision is to sell Africanism internationally. As a proud
producer of MTN Durban Fashion Week since its inception,
Danny has always believed in giving creative people
that a jumpstart in life. “MTNDFW has created
this opportunity through a process of transparency and
progress where all designers, artists and models can
rub shoulders with the who’s-who in the industry
and grow,” says Danny.
DECAMM
Productions was founded in response for a need for an
empowered organization to provide a wide variety of
pre and post production services to the film and fashion
industries, such as talent and location scouting, show
production choreography, and creative directing and
fashion styling. Derrick Mhlongo, director of Decamm
Productions, has worked within the industry for over
10 years. He has been involved in a wide variety of
projects which were successfully executed. These include
sevaral fashion events such as, “Spiderman”
Launch in SA, SA Fashion Week, Duku-Duku Awards, Metro
FM Music Awards, Nokia Cape Town Fashion Week, Castle
Fusion JHB, Durban Designer Collection, Vodacom Durban
July and MTN Durban Fashion Week.
Umzingeli
Productions specializes in the production and direction
of special events for stage and TV in the fields of
fashion, lifestyle and music. Jan Malan, a Namibian
by birth and director of Umzingeli Productions, is one
of the leading show producers in Africa. He conceptualized
and spearheaded the Face of Africa Model Search in 1997,
which was broadcast to more than 44 African countries
and the United States. Malan has staged productions
in more than 12 countries, including the finals of the
Ford Supermodel of the World in the Dominican Republic
and Miami. He is curator of the fashion node at the
International Design Indaba Expo in CT, co-producer
of Nokia Cape Town and MTN Durban Fashion Week and selected
shows at SA Fashion Week. Through superb music design
and choreography and an appreciation of mood and texture,
Jan Malan is able to interpret and realize the designer’s
vision and passion on the runway.
Over
25 years of experience, an excess of a 1000 events ranging
from fashion to corporate makes Mary Reynolds, founder
of TRAMPS, the obvious choice for any client, creative
director or designer. She has worked extensively in
SA and the surrounding countries and will return for
the second season in 2007 to produce & direct in
Paris at Paris Fashion Week (Couture). She has also
been responsible for finding some of the greatest model
talent that SA has to offer and has trained them to
grace local and international catwalks.
